Can I bare my soul for a bit? Its ok if you dont read. Im a drone. A short circuiting drone. The romance is gone. The perfect illusion has faded. All that remains for now is work. Mind-numbing, uninspiring, just get it done work. Their is a glimmer of hope and excitement. That hope that one day you will be able to engage in deeper thinking. Get back to the creative process. For now it is execute, minimize mistakes, hang on. Usually when you see our products out of stock its not our fault. Someone at the store forgot to re-order, or a distributor didnt accurately project demand during a sale, but lately out of stocks have been our fault. Lately weve mistimed production and deliveries or under-produced. Its my fault. The we I am always referring to are my investors who help out on the side, our suppliers, our brokers, our volunteer. I use we because it makes me feel less alone throughout this process, but at the end of the day when something goes wrong its on me. I cant blame anyone else but me. Im sorry. Weve bootstrapped this company from the very beginning while growing as aggressively as we can. By the Grace of God weve been able to accomplish things that a company of 1 shouldnt be able to. But Im ready to move on. Ready to move to this company to what I envision it can be. I want to hire people, bright people to manage logistics and ensure our product are always on the shelf. I want to redo our outdated and broken website so that it accurately reflects what our brand is, and aspires to be. I want to do marketing campaigns that allow us to engage with our customers in a way that a store sale can not. What I really want most is to have the time to meaningfully drive my company forward instead of constantly just treading water. Well (its not proverbial anymore - our new hire started this week) get there. Our fans are too great to let us fail.
