Can I just say the terrapins owners were really loath to give them up. They were lovely people and as with most of the animals we get in it was poor health (dodgy heart) not irresponsibility why they came to us. I want the terrapins to go to a wonderful new home, as I do all our animals, this is why I am advertising. I would never take in more animals than I or my fosterers could cope with, I will not let them go to any old home and I dont think it would do our reputation any good at all to take animals and then shove them on to the SSPCA or other rescue organisations. Please dont assume that because were pushing an animal were desperate to get rid of it, it is simply that social media advertising requires regular input to ensure as many of our supporters are aware as possible. I really value you guys sharing and getting in touch but please, please realise I advertise so you know the animals are here looking for wonderful new homes not because I cant cope. (And we ask for donations because the more we have, the more animals we can help, not because the animals will all starve to death if you dont donate, if you dont donate well keep feeding the ones we have til homes are found, we just will refuse to help any others until we know we can care for them.) Sorry to sound grumpy but our supporters seem to forget that the poor people who give their pets up are often heartbroken and we work just as hard for the people as we do the animals.
