Can anyone explain to me how Quebec/Canada is broken up? I am so confused since I have no knowledge of Canadas boundaries. For instance, here in America we have country, state, county, and town/city. Is it the same in Canada? For instance, my grandmothers family hails from Montreal which I understand to be a part of Quebec. They are from the St. Rosaire parish. At first I thought parish referred to the church as we call Catholic Churches where Im from parishes. I quickly realized that I was mistaken when I found a marriage record from St. Valere duBolstrode. Any general information about geographical breakdown would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
