A VERY BRIEF HISTORY of UPPER CRUST “To provide the right to real work in an appropriate setting for all our employees” In 1986 the parents of Clarke Road School for Special Purposes were concerned about what would happen with their children when they left school .This resulted in the establishment of a training centre of a catering business and coffee shop registered as UPPER CRUST FOOD & CATERING. It is located at Denman Parade, Normanhurst. By 1991 seven trainees were placed in open employment and the number continued to grow. In 2005 FaHCSIA considered the assessment resulting from a full capacity review of Upper Crust by KPMG. This review also recognised that the strategic future of Upper Crust would be best served through a merger with another organisation. Unfortunately this did not work and Upper Crust was closed on 9th August 2013 Help us to reopen Upper Crust as a training centre for people with special needs in the Hornsby LGA Contact Barbara: 0434 898 077 or email rally4uc@gmail
