Can someone please explain to me, why is asparagus priced at $4.00......when it is local and in season?!?!?! I can buy it in Jan. for $2.49....shipped all the way from California or Mexico. And Im sure they still make a profit. So, ....what kind of profit are our poor local farmers making??!! Im all about supporting local businesses and farmers but NOT if they are going to rip me off to do it. Sorry, I have a limited budget and have to shop within my means. Sometimes I think they are taking advantage of the buy local craze!
