Can someone who believes that this country is for equal opportunities explain to me the idea and concept behind GENTRIFICATION? Who it benefits? How easy it is for a corporation to come in and claim any part of any city historic give themselves the means to just arbitrarily increase the property value in that neighborhood? So land that was at one time occupied by 95% blacks is now considered historic in value. I witnessed my grandmother being threatened to sale her property at a low ball price to the City only to see them resale it for 300% the amount she sold it for. They told her that if she didnt agree to the terms then the property would be condemned......and I guess to all those who are in favor of profit at all costs this is fair right? And did I mention.......THE HOUSE WAS PAID FOR WITH NO MORTGAGE LOANS against it. So again a house that was paid for in full was still being considered for confiscation because she would not sell her paid for property.
