Can the Rogue Police officers (as described in recent media reports) be classed as Pro-PO militants??? The term militant is used to describe aggressive or vigorous person(s), that support a cause and or person. Another definition of militant is person(s) favoring confrontational or violent methods in support of a political or social cause: RECENT ROGUE POLICE ACTIONS: 1) 19/10/14 last Sunday assault & threat towards Det. Premenga Fraud Squad (over contempt of court proceedings being served on fellow officers in preventing arrest of PO). 2) 22/10/14 Per fraud squad, about 10 “loose officers” surrounded Fraud Squad HO, while others went in & demanded to arrest the fraud squad officers involved in the arrest & assault of Police lawyer Sam Bonner over 3mths ago.. At about the same time other police in the visiting group shot out tyres on 2 vehicles parked outside the office. Allegedly the same rogue officers were present that assaulted Det. Premenga on 19/10/14. 3) 23/10/14 Activist Noel Anjo said he was surrounded by 15 police vehicles at protest scene & ordered not to protest against the PM & police. Mr Anjo’s loudspeaker was destroyed plus wires to the microphone cut off. We note that Noel Anjo had a restraining order in place to prevent officers from interfering with his protest, thus rogue police breached court order. Why hasnt the Police Association general secretary Clemence Kanau made a media statement? He quoted in July this year There are no rogue police in the police force..Well Kanau how do yu explain assault by 15 rogue officers just last Sunday on Det. Premenga? Further 3 mths ago Kanau stated We want to sound a very stern warning...to politicians that we may contemplate utilizing our industrial muscle, if need be, to stop politicising the police force. When will the Police union step in? What were witnessing is a direct result of the PM’s stubbornness in placing himself above the rule of law. The actions of this minority group of policemen is directly dictated or influenced by him & he cant deny that. The PM must now do the most honorable thing & surrender him-self as quoted by Belden Namah 22/10/14. In June Gov. Juffa also questioned the appointment of AG Ano Pala. Police Commissioner, Mr. Vaki on 22/10/14 stated “I must reassure members of the public that the Constabulary is stable How is shut down of Fraud Squad HO & shooting their vehicle tyres stable Vaki? Its not! In light of the above we the public can decide for ourselves if we want to term the actions of the rogue police officers as pro-PO militants or not..
