“Can these bones live?” God asked a certain man. “You are of no value,” an angry teacher told his struggling student. “I don’t think you can go far in life; nothing good can be found in you.” His face was hard on the teenage boy. “God!” He threw his hand in frustration into the air. ‘How on earth can I deal with a waste of time student like you? You are dead meat, dry and good for nothing.’ He raged out at him. The young boy slowly lifted up his head to look at his teacher. He just heard him mention the name of ‘God’. Does it mean even God thought the same of him? Does it mean he has been written off even in the kingdom of God? He felt dejected and torn down. Every damning and hurtful word that has been spoken into his life started to ring violently in his ears. He concluded they were right; it wasn’t their fault he’d failed his exams so many times; it wasn’t their fault he couldn’t speak confidently or be like other bright students of his age. It wasn’t their fault he had repeated the same class twice in a row. He bowed his head in shame and slowly walked away from the teacher. “This was it,” He thought in his heart as tears rolled down his cheeks. “I’m done.”
