Can we address the matter of Hosea 4:6? I believe I will! Many teach that Hosea 4:6 says, My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge While I will agree that is what is said, unless one reads CONTEXT of the chapter, they will miss what is REALLY being said. Let us read what v6 says in totality, and then we will break it down..OK? OK! My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being My priest. Since you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children. So Hosea was addressing the leaders, correct? Yes, He was. And why? They were teaching EVERYTHING BUT God! They were turning the people to EVERYTHING BUT God! If you start at V1, you will see that pagan worship had been taught by the leaders, and Gods laws were being broken by the people, BECAUSE they were doing what they seen the leaders do!!! Oh My! It was so bad that the land was suffering! Get this yall, NOT only were the people being destroyed, but the animals were dying off too! So when we use scripture to support what WE want it to say, we are actually doing exactly what was done in Hoseas time. And get this one........ v7-8 says, The more priests there were, the more they sinned against me; they exchanged their glorious God for something disgraceful. When the people bring their sin offerings, the priests get fed. So the priests are glad when the people sin Here is what is strikes me, the MORE the people sinned and brought a sin offering, the Priest received a portion of that offering. In other words, the Priest were profiting from the sins of the people, so WHY would they teach them God? For what? The objective wasnt to teach God, it was to keep the people in sin! Just as today, there is NO money in GOD, however, there is MUCH money in teaching others about everything BUT God! And many wonder why folks are spiritually dead! They have NO knowledge of God! How bout that!
