Can we all share this? I know this is found everywhere and people need to start taking a look at their own behavior. Dear soccer players, coaches, and parents, I have a message that is just for you. Just because I wear a yellow shirt with black vertical stripes does not mean that I am not a human. Most people who ref your games are between the ages of 12 and 18. I have feelings. I have family and friends who love me. I give up time that could be spent with them to come and try to call a game of 22 kids running around trying to kill each other fairly, while dealing with all the insults that I hear from the sidelines. Imagine what would happen if someone came up to the sideline and started yelling at your son/daughter about how crappy they were playing. Chances are, you wouldnt be too happy. Remember, if we were not willing to do this, you/your child would not be able to play. Also, soccer is a contact sport. Im not going to award your team a free kick if someone gets touched or falls down. Also, I dont care if you think I made a bad call. I can honestly say I have never once lost sleep because I made a bad call. At the end of the day, I dont care if you win or lose. If you want me to penalize the other team as much as I penalize yours, tell your kids to start playing fairly Sincerely, The soccer refs who are starting to get sick of their jobs
