Can we talk a little about professionalism, and the lack thereof? I am finding myself surrounded by unprofessional behavior more and more often, and it is driving me mad. Example: 2 weeks ago, I paid $165 to have my woodstove/chimney cleaned. They did the work while I was at work and Julie was home. Today, I actually open the woodstove and looked inside and there are 2 fire bricks in the stove. I have no idea where they came from. They wasnt there before. I called the company, and they said, oh, you must have knocked them loose using the stove. Nope, I have used the stove since you was here. Oh, they break sometimes and fall down. Nope, the 2 bricked are perfectly intact and stacked on the floor of the insert. Well, we can come look at it in 2½ weeks when we are in Orland next time. So what am I supposed to do in the mean time?? Can I use my stove with these 2 mystery bricks missing?? It should be ok. SHOULD?? Now Im really pissed and want to speak to the owner. He calls me back and says it sounds like the tech forgot to re-install the bricks when he cleaned. Ya think? He gives me the its okay to use, see you in 2½ weeks speech and I tell him Im reversing my payment. Suddenly an appointment slot opened up for Thursday. Go figure. Any recommendations for a chimney sweep for future work...I wont be going back to Grand Ole Chimney again.
