Can you imagine a cruise to the Bahamas for $180.00? The Class of 1974 sailed on the Bahama Star. The cost of the trip was payable in 4 easy installments of $45.00 each, which included bas fare to/from Miami, the cruise, an overnight stop in Daytona Beach. Talk about a deal. Our class had some funds in its coffers and our class President, David Burgis, must have had the inside track with the travel agent. We had a blast and made a lifetime of memories.....25-cent Planters Punch.....Nickel slots.....Motor scooters on the left-hand side of the road...the Straw Market.....A Mariachi band bearing flaming baked Alaska....Pedro, the waiter turned serial-dater wannabe....Mixing the contents of our fruit baskets with liquor from unmarked 10/$1 mini-bottles....Calypso and glass-bottom boat excursions.....vibrating beds in Daytona....long dresses....Mr. Davis....etc. It seems like only yesterday....big sigh..........
