Can you remember being two or three years old? Were you expected to buy your own groceries, pay your own bills, and build your own house at the age? Of course not! A two year old is a helpless child, unable to do much without proper help or guidance. Even when you grow up God says you will still be helpless. He calls us his flock because sheep are the most helpless of animals. They dont know how to find new fields to graze. They cant protect themselves from wild animals. They are so fearful that they would just huddle together and die if they didnt have a Shepard. The Shepard is the one who keeps them fed, watered, and safe. The Lord has promised to be our Shepard. He will rescue lost people. He will bandage and heal us when were wounded He will make sure that we have all that we need. He will calm our fears and protect us from our enemies. When you feel like a little lost sheep, wandering around aimlessly, remember that the Shepard is waiting for you. He is calling your name. Run to Him. Ezekiel 34:25-31
