Can you see the difference between the law of the land and the (brought by Moses) Law of God? (aka Mosaic/Jewish law) MATTHEW 22:35-40: 35 Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying, 36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. ------- Acts 13:38-40: 38 Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: 39 And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses. ------- Romans 2:12: For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law; ------- Romans 3:18-20: 18 There is no fear of God before their eyes. 19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. 20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. ------- Romans 3:21: But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; ------- Romans 3:27: Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. ------- Romans 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. ------- Romans 4:13-15: 13 For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. 14 For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect: 15 Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression. ------- Romans 5:13 (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. ------- Romans 5:20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. For without the law sin was dead. ------- Romans 7:9: For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died. ------- Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. ------- Romans 8:3-4: 3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: 4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. ------- Romans 8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. ------- Romans 9:31-33 31 But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness. 32 Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge. 12 There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another? ------- Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. ------- Ephesians 2:8-9 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. ------- Romans 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: ------- Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; ------- John 3:16 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. -------
