Canada has grown GM crops for 20 years without any negative effects and the number of farmers growing these crops continues to grow. - via GMO SF Canada has reaped the benefits of 20 y of GM crop production. Farmers have gained billions in terms of improved production and reduced chemical costs, while the environment has also benefited from the reduced application of pesticides and insecticides. The adoption rates for GM canola and corn can be seen as full market adoption, while 80% of soybean production in Canada is now done using GM varieties. Clearly, farmers are receiving substantial benefits from GM crops, otherwise the adoption rates for GM varieties would be declining rather than continuing to increase or remaining at full adoption.
