Candidates file for city council, school board. Candidates have begun filing for the general municipal election April 7. Three incumbent city council members are running for re-election following the first week of filing which began Dec. 16. Ken Sheputis, Ward 1, Nathan Miller, Ward 2, and Pam Behring, Ward 3, all filed to have their names placed on the April 7 ballot. The terms are for two years. Nobody had filed for the mayor’s position currently held by Loren Graham. The Palmyra R-I School District has two candidates running for school board. Stacy Hoerr, an incumbent, and Darin Redd, have filed for the two board seats up for election for three-year terms. The filing period ends Jan. 20.
