Cannes Day 4, Part II. After a quick power nap, headed to Antibes for a few hours to get away from all the madness. I stayed in Antibes three years ago but you have to be on the train by 1130p otherwise you stay out til 6am or pay for a 60 Euro cab ride home. Another quick nap and then onto It Follows, a psychological horror film that is very indie indeed. Very measured at first and then it pays off masterfully at the end. Im not into the horror genre but this was good filmmaking and story telling which trumps everything. Afterwards, I ended up at the aforementioned Le Petit Majestic which is a drunken beer fest with film professionals from throughout the world. I talked with a couple of Danish filmmakers for an hour about movies. Thats what your supposed to do. Hope to get into a couple of premieres tomorrow including The Homesman directed by Tommy Lee Jones who is starring along iwth Hilary Swank and Meryl Streep. Maybe a black tie carpet walk before, And perhaps The Rover with Guy Pierce and the vampire guy from Twilight. That might get nuts.
