Cant believe it! Dan Fotou reminds me that at about this hour four years ago, we were waiting for President Obamas helicopter to land in Los Angeles at Barbara Boxers fundraiser. In a hour or so, all hell would break loose when a small group of queer activists, strategically placed throughout the room, would interrupt the President demanding an end to Dont Ask, Dont Tell - with CNN capturing the look of disbelief and anger on his face. How dare the queers complain! The next day, on the return flight aboard Air Force One, DADT was the only thing the press corps were discussing. I have many favorite organizing moments, but this one stands out as the most important action I helped create. Happy anniversary, Dan!
