Cant even believe I am writing this but - our Basset Peach, the big hefty one, is pretty sick and I suspect it is kidney failure. She saw the vet today and had blood drawn so Monday we will know more - if she makes it to Monday. Dogs have the darndest way of hiding how sick they are. She was off this past week but we thought between getting and then losing Bones, things were all out of whack anyway - and she usually picks up on our emotions. But she didnt finish her dinner Tuesday and Wednesday and last night didnt eat at all, then started vomiting last night. She has also been hiding this past week - in the shrubs by the front porch, in moms closet, out back where the vines cover the fence. She was very sick again this morning and has tried to crawl into my laundry basket of dirty clothes - it would be funny except we know how sick she is. She is old, and things happen - but this week has been hard enough - if I disappear anyway you will know why. We are all terribly upset and my mom especially so. I dont think I can take losing yet another one - but I would have to be an idiot to not recognize the signs. :(
