Cant sleep! Too excited! Havent packed yet - figured Ill get it done in the morning. But ready or not, Rio de Janeiro here we come! Sorry that we didnt get to catch up properly with everyone before we head away, but know that we are taking you all with us in our hearts. Theres no way to express in words how grateful we are to all our friends and Whanau who have given us this amazing, life-changing opportunity. The best we can do to show you how thankful we are is to make the most of every single moment we are there, rise to the occasion and embrace the adventure! Cant wait to see our gorgeous sissy Mereana Myra Hodges and our beautiful adopted daughter for this trip, Ariana Ransom, paddle over there. You girls are going to be awesome! And of course, looking forward to dipping my paddle in the water over there too. Thanks to our mums and dads for your endless support and to our sisters and brothers for everything yous do - we are blessed, blessed, blessed! To our beautiful kids, Jacob Wilkins-Hodges, Matariki Wilkins-Hodges, Tairoki Tahau-Hodges, and Hirimoops, be good, dont use up all Nannys jiggabits, and look after each other - only ten sleeps and then its game on - party time in Oz, so bring your A game, coz me and Dad are gonna be throwin it down! Xx And to Turi Hodges, you have worked so hard for this regatta and done everything you possibly can to be fighting fit and mentally strong for this event. Our tough times that we go through arent even that tough coz I know Im going through them with you, and thats enough to put a smile on my face, even on the stinkest of days. You are one focused, headstrong and committed dude my darling, and you have managed to guts it out through all the distractions of the past few months.
