Capital One Cup 3rd Round Preview Blog Hello and welcome to The Football Analyst Show and today we are previewing the 3rd round ties of the capital one cup. First well start off with Arsenals game against Chelsea and these two certainly have history between themselves. It will be a close game because these are in fact the top 2 in the league so far and one will look to one over on another. I can see it being close and I reckon it will finish 2-2 after 90 minutes with Arsenal winning on penalties. Birmingham play Stoke at St Andrews and the blues will look for another upset after they beat Swansea in the last round and they come up against a Stoke side who havent looked their best this season and hope to turn that round away from home. I can see Stoke winning this one. 2-1. West Ham travel to Championship leaders Burnley. I think Burnley can pull this off because of their recent form with the Hammers not looking at their best so far so I predict a Burnley win. 2-1. Fulham travel to Leicester and last time Fulham played a team outside the Premier League they ended up going to penalties at Burton but look to win this in 90 minutes against a Leicester side who will want to cause an upset but I cant see that happening. 3-1 to Fulham. Man United host Norwich at Old Trafford and looking at the comparison between the two I can see United walking through this as theyve looked very promising in the last couple of weeks. 3-0 to United. To wednesday nights games and its a big game between Newcastle and Man City who have already played each other this season when City thumped the magpies 4-0 on the opening day but Newcastle will want to upset their opponents in this but I cant see it happening. 3-1 to City. Tottenham play Hull again after their win against them on Sunday but Hull will be looking for revenge from that day and hope to upset Spurs who dont seem to score much in games this season but I think they can change that this game as I think they can win this 2-0. Sunderland were supposed to be playing Southampton this week but that seems to have moved to next week but I will preview this one anyway. Sunderland have done well to get this far but they come up against a Southampton side who rarely concede a goal this season and I think the Saints get another clean sheet. 2-0. Thank you for reading and next time I will review these fixtures on Thursday. Will do a separate review for the Sunderland vs Southampton clash next wednesday night.
