Capitalism is not just an economic system, it s a socio-economic - TopicsExpress

Capitalism is not just an economic system, it s a socio-economic structure bound by political ideology and propaganda. Without ideology people would not bow their head to authority of any form. The Church sells heaven(after life), the State sells protection(to the rich), the Market sells the promise of wealth(to the lower classes). All things run under necessity and strife since antagonism and profit are the main goals of society. Take for example old american sports and drama films: the poor protagonist becomes rich and succefull after hard work and a lot of dissapointments only because he believed in his self or in god. In other words you can beat the odds(aka the socio-economic conditions) alone(individually) and take your place among the upper class. On the other hand, in an old soviet animation tv series for greek mythology Hercules denied Olympus and defied Zeus so that he can serve again the people. For the same reason Prometheus sacrificed his self in another episode. Although this animation series were too propagandistic for a childrens show, we can understand how different the priorities and the values were behind the wall.
