Capt. Benjamin H. Albertson, of San Antonio TX, flew with the 369th Fighter Squadron, 359th Fighter Group, from April 1943 through October 1943, then transferred to the 370th Fighter Squadron, with whom he flew until 18 March 1944, when he was hit by flak, bailed out, and became a POW. 18 March 1944 mission: Col. Tacon led a withdrawal mission from 1445 to 1830. The 369th crossed in at 1523 near Calais and R/V was made at 1621 near Epernay. These planes later cross out at 1656 near Oissmont. The rest of the 359th cross in at 1553 near Gravelines and R/V at Soissons at 1603. These leave the bombers at 1700 near Dormons and cross out at 1728 in the Ault area.
