Carburetors & EFI systems do NOT pump liquid gasoline into combustions chambers. They convert the liquid into vapors, which are ignited for computation to power the vehicle. Some new cars & most older card its possible to put liquid gas into the combustion chambers. When that happens the car wont start until the liquid has evaporated / turned into a vaporous state. That is called flooding the motor, because the sparky gas are so wet they cant cause the spark because of the liquid gas.
