The network has its Secretariat in Islamabad and its membership is based in 26 Countries. Project Brief: For an expected project to be implemented in four districts of Southern Punjab i.e. Multan, Bahawalpur, Muzaffargarh and Lodhran, HRDN is seeking expression of interest from qualified individuals. Primary objective of expected project is to promote and implement the project activities focused on young graduates and students of masters and graduate studies. Purpose of the Job: Working under direct supervision and guidance of Project Manager and Executive Director, Career Counseling Specialist will be responsible for following duties: - Duties and Responsibilities: Summary of key function/ Results Provide career development and job search counseling to University youth in both individual and group settings. Responsible for setting up and strengthening of career counseling desks in target districts. Strengthening of existing career counseling desks of universities/colleges of the targeted districts. Responsible for the capacity building of existing staff of career counseling desks. Use achievement and aptitudes tests to help youth get a better idea of what they are good at and counsel the youths who are considering a career change. Evaluate youths educational and work backgrounds in order to help them determine what they need to do next to achieve their goals. Advise students about what courses and educational programs they need for particular careers. Help youth in selecting the right institutions or programs for their needs. Help students and youth to locate sources of financial support to pay for school and other training programs. Teach and practice jobs skills such as interviewing, resume writing, and networking. Aid youths in the job search process by teaching them where to look for open positions and connecting them with job search resources through web-portal and SMS service. Develop strong relationships with chairs, department heads and faculty in the Universities /Colleges of targeted area. Work closely with other staff members in the planning and coordination of career outreach and programs such as career counseling sessions with youth. Must have strong communication skills. Career and occupational resources, trends, and opportunities. Strong knowledge of career and occupational resources, trends, and opportunities. Must be positive, compassionate and encouraging. Having close working experience with Educationists and Institutions (Universities/colleges), provincial and local Govt. department. Ability to lead public awareness and outreach program. Having diplomatic, courteous and self-possessed personality. Knowledge Management and Learning Work independently using effective public relations skills with little direction. Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships. Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action. Meet schedules and time lines. Shares knowledge and experience. Actively work towards continuing personal learning and applies newly acquired skills. Required Education and Experience Masters in Social Science/MS Public Policy or relevant fields. Experience and Skill: At least 5 years working experience as career counselor in national, international organizations/institutions. Experience of maintaining high level professional relations with multiple stakeholders, celebrities, politicians, senior Government officials and donor community. Excellent communication and presentation skills required. Fluency in verbal and written English will be considered an added advantage. Understanding local languages would be preference.
