Carl Sandburg College and education association have reached a contract The Carl Sandburg College Board of Trustees and the Sandburg Education Association (SEA) have agreed to an extension of the labor agreement through fiscal year 2019. The Trustees formally approved the agreement at its regular meeting Tuesday night. The college’s original three-year rolling collective bargaining agreement with the SEA was approved by the Board of Trustees July 25, 1996, and expired June 30, 1999. The agreement has continued over the last 18 years, by the Board’s approval of the recommendations of the administration, through fiscal year 2016. The negotiation meetings this fall maintain the rolling contract through fiscal year 2019. Included in the agreement are salary and wage increases of 3.0 percent for fiscal year 2017 and 2018 and 3.25 for fiscal year 2019. The college’s fiscal year begins July 1.
