Carlo Ancelotti is putting no credence in rumours linking Cristiano Ronaldo with a move away from Real Madrid. Carlos Full press conference...... Ancelotti addressed the media ahead of the away trip to Villarreal tomorrow and despite reports Iker Casillas will be back in the starting XI at El Madrigal, the Italian didn’t want to give hints about his line-up. “I still don’t know because I have another training session to look forward to,” he replied when the subject was raised. “I can only say that I don’t think one goalkeeper will play at home and another will play away. It would not be fair on my side to say that there is a table of the best and one of the worst players in the squad. “I love every player. If Iker will play, it’s just because I think he is the best. Then I don’t know whether Iker and Keylor [Navas] go out and have dinner together but their relationship is good.” Goalkeepers coach William Vecchi has been criticised by some observers but Ancelotti defended his colleague and friend. “I think that Vecchi is the best goalkeeper coach in the world,” he countered. “Nobody can boast the same experience as him. It’s crazy to hear that he’s not a good coach.” Apart from the absentees of Pepe and Fabio Coentrao in defence, Ancelotti should present the same starting XI that won the European Supercup in Cardiff last month, but he wasn’t comfortable on the subject of the system. “I didn’t speak with the players about this,” he added. “The only thing I can say is that they feel at ease when we are in possession, while they don’t feel at ease when we are not in possession. That’s the thing we are working on. “Obviously teams that don’t concede goals are the ones that have more chances to win titles. Last year we won titles because we improved at the back. “If we don’t concede, that would be better because in terms of scoring, I don’t think that this team will ever have problems.” And against Villarreal, Ancelotti would like to see his troops well prepared to march on right from the off. “They are a fast and dynamic team, well organized,” he said. “We’ll try to be aggressive and play with intensity right from the start, just like against Deportivo.” He also predicted Ronaldo will again prove decisive for the rest of the season, having been on the receiving end of the Portuguese’s talents. “When I was at Milan and he was at Manchester United, I played against him and it’s not easy to think how you have to stop him,” Ancelotti admitted. “At the moment, there’s no doubt he’s the best in the world. We are lucky to have him here, because marking him isn’t easy, and in every game he shows will, determination and character. “He plays like a leader. We have to keep him well both mentally and physically because he is a player that yields trophies.” “I can’t imagine Real without Cristiano. These are meaningless rumours. He is really happy to be at Real Madrid and Madrid fans are very happy with him.” Finally, Ancelotti also spoke about Gareth Bale, whom he believes is further along in his adaption following last year’s move from Tottenham Hotspur. “He has gained more experience this season and now he is more used to playing with us,” the former Paris Saint-Germain boss said. “He is a very important player for everyone. He can improve what he did last season.”
