Carlton Gerrell Named Chambers Person of the Year PMB Services Chosen as Business of the Year Paris, Tenn.- The Paris Henry County Chamber of Commerce held their 64th Annual Membership Banquet Thursday night and Carlton Gerrell was announced as the Chamber’s Person of the Year. The 2013 person of the year, Kathy Ray, highlight some of Carlton’s many activities he is involved in such as the Food Bank, Boy Scouts, Tennessee Valley Community Church’s Executive Pastor, Paris City Commissioner, and chairman of the Be Local Committee. Carlton accepted the award with gratitude and said his family and God have always been the inspiration to continue to get involved and make Pairs and Henry County the best it can be. Michael Murphy of Clifty Farms Country Hams had the honor of presenting the 2014 business of the year to Tim Boyd and PMB Services. Clifty Farms was the 2013 business of the year. Tim Boyd spoke briefly and thanked everyone for voting PMB Services as the business of the year and said he was just like a bus driver and he had a great team of employees behind him to get the job done. For the first time ever, the Conservationists of the year was awarded at the Chamber Banquet. This award goes out to companies and families, who exhibit conservation or farming type skills, honor the rich tradition of agriculture that Henry County has. Story Farms won the Conversation of the Year for 2014. The 2014 Leadership Henry County was recognized and included Melanie Antonino, Tony Brown, Kevin Buie, Greg Carter, Chuck Elizondo, Dustin Smith, Jeremy Stone, Roger Veazey, David Hamilton, Willie Huffman, Rob Markum, Leatha McCroskey, Josh Greer, and Justin Rawls. Towards the end of the evening, Outgoing Chamber President Andrea Lamb and Executive Director of the Chamber did a year in review of the top ten things that made the Chamber great in 2013, with the Be Local Committee implementation selected as number one. Lamb then made remarks on her year as president before handing the red jacket over to this year’s president, Chip Anderson. Anderson spoke about letting the chamber work for its membership and making it the best it can be. The chamber banquet was catered by Perry’s BBQ and former WMUF weekend news director Micah Snow provided entertainment.
