Carrie and Billy were born and raised in Medford, Oregon. They both grew up hunting and fishing. They met in their junior year of high school and spent as much time together as possible. They enjoyed the outdoors, camping and shooting their pistols. Billy had always talked to Carrie about how important it was for here to be comfortable with the use of her weapon. He would say” I don’t want my girl to be a victim.” On Saturday morning they loaded their truck for a camping trip. Enough food, camping supplies and a tent. They were going to their favorite spot. About a mile before the Crater Lake turnoff they would turn onto a Forest Service road and drive about a mile .You could hear the sound of the river from where they pitched their tent. When camp was set up they went for a walk up the trail. They saw deer on the 5 mile loop they hiked. When they got back to camp Billy grabbed a couple beers and a bag of chips and sat next to Carrie. They talked about the future, how many children they would have and where they would live. Both agreeing to live in Oregon. It was getting late in the afternoon and it was cooling off. Carrie got up and stretched a blanket across both of them. Carrie says” I sure love to spend quiet time with you”. Billy say’s its quieter in the tent” and looks at Carrie with a big grin on his face. You do? Maybe later you can tell me a bedtime story. They could hear a car coming up the road and it drives by real slow. They could see the passenger looking at them as they drove by. They watched as the car went by and then stopped. Carrie got up and went to the tent and grabbed her 9 mm Glock pistol and went back and sat down. Billy had pulled his10mm Glock from his holster and held it on his lap. He reached down and pulled the blanket up to cover their laps. The car turned around and pulled in and parked next to their truck. Two men got out, about 40 years old. They looked like they had been living in their car. One of the men says “howdy, which way is it back to the highway”? Billy says “the way you were going”. The man say’s “you got something to drink”? Billy responds “Water in the ice chest”. The man says" you mind if we get are chairs and join you"? Billy says "we came out here to get away from people". The man says" that’s not very hospitable". Billy say" By". The men turn and walk a few steps and stop. Billy thinks that they are talking and he removes the blanket and raises his pistol and points it at the men. Carrie follows suit. The men turn around at the same time and Billy sees a gun in one of the men’s hand and opens fire. Carrie starts firing also and they both continued until the men were laying on the ground. Carrie looks at Billy and says “I guess no quiet time tonight”.
