Carry protection from loose dogs with you when your out with your dog. You may not think you need any, that its not likely, but I promise you its way way more comen than you think. I say their dog has no right to hurt or kill yours without your defending yours. The logic behind owner getting mad about defece is basically that, mine can hurt/kill yours but you cant do anything to mine. Human aggressive dogs may be rare but dog aggression (particularly on the small defenseless ones) is very comen these days. Invariably the owner of the off leasher thinks their dog is friendly, and will often yell shes/hes friendly!. All those yells really mean is Im not helping you when things go south. When you Google protection from aggressive dogs people will suggest things like a stick, citronella spray, or body block but in real life those wont work. Thats straight from the horses mouth, Ive had an attempted attack and they wouldnt have done didly squat for even a low intensity dog. Well, turning your back to the agresier if your holding a small dog in your arms can help when it jumps up. Letting go of your leash for your dog to run or fight will only give you a lost dog, or dead (runnings like a bunny running, they will ceach it...). You will need to pick up you little guy at the when you first see the off leasher so it never runs on the ground (prey drive), if that doesnt happen you will have to pick your dog up by their leash and harness or collar. When a dog goes after yours, their not joking.. Your dog is a bunny to them is a good way to describe then intentness and prey drive at work. If they get ahold of yours they will shake like when they play with squeaky toys, its a prey behavior to brake the neck. What I have herd work for them is pepper spray, you will want to research spray pattern options because some types blow back on to you bad. From my research foam or gel is the best to prevent this. Some links to other peoples storys: dogsinservice.blogspot/p/my-pit-bull-attack-story.html thisisdevon.co.uk/Puppy-dies-attack-pitbull-type-dog-woods/story-19645869-detail/story.html#axzz2hlCkdb5VI encourage you to google dog killed by other dog, the frequency of these things is horrible. And very few actly get in the news so multiply by about 100.
