Cashmere (north-west of Brisbane) – grass fire as at 11.45am Friday, 1 August: Multiple Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES), Moreton Bay Regional Council (MBRC) and Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) crews remain on scene monitoring a grass fire burning in the vicinity of Old School Road, Winn Road and Clear Mountain Road, Cashmere. The fire is currently burning safely and within containment lines, with no properties under threat. A large volume of smoke is continuing to linger in Cashmere and surrounding suburbs. Residents are asked to close windows and doors and if suffering from a respiratory condition, keep medications close by. Motorists are urged to be aware of their surroundings and drive to conditions. If residents are concerned their property is under threat they are advised to call triple zero (000) immediately.
