Cate Blanchet in Blue Jasmine was really good too and other movies I have seen her in (strong female character). She won the Academy award. That was a real character change from what you see as they speak at the awards and discern their normal communications. There are so many good actresses; Natalie Portman, Jennifer Lawrence... As to the male actors, I used to like Brad Pitt for his acting and he played with Cate Blanchet, I like Robert DiNiro because he transforms himself and plays drama and comedies (I thought he and Meryl Streep were great in their old movies, the Deer Hunter, Falling in Love), Johnny Depp as he is off beat, Mel Gibson, Russell Crowe, Tommy Lee Jones just because I like him, Daniel Day-Lewis as an ACTOR, I used to like Harrison Ford and the Indy films were great, then, of course Leonardo DiCaprio in Titanic years ago and I think he needs to find another that is unique to him, only him; on TV I like Tom Harmon on NCIS as I like his stand on taking on the bad guys and winning...etc.
