For more details, please visit ipeglobal Programme Description Project Name: Health System Strengthening, Quality Improvement, And RMNCH+ Scale-Up Program Area 5: Scaling Up Interventions in Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal, Child and Adolescent Health The purpose of this assignment is to support the Government of India’s RMNCH+A Strategy especially in 30 HPDs of the 6 states where USAID is the Lead Development Partner. It requires provision of techno-managerial support at national, state and district level to develop capacity enabling implementation agencies to identify and scale up effective RMNCH+A interventions for improved reproductive, maternal and child health outcomes. The overall purpose of the assignment is to increase the off-take of RMNCH+A services in the 6 states viz. Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Delhi. Roles and responsibilities: Key Job Responsibilities: • Provide strategic direction and technical leadership for the project at the state level. • Guide, supervise and manage the project team at state and district level. • Ensure good relationship and coordination at state level with the state government and other RMNCH+A, and USAID partners for effective planning and implementation of the RMNCH+A program. • Do advocacy for adoption and mechanisms for implementation of high impact interventions as recommended under GOI’s RMNCH+A Strategy. • Represent project at all important technical and partnership meetings at the state. • Coordinate with the State and District health officials in the development of the District Health Action Plans of the HPDs. • To build a symbiotic relationship with the private sector to carry out its stewardship role as well as involve them in service delivery partnerships. • Interact and coordinate with the departments of WCD & Education for harmonizing efforts focussed on RMNCH+A activities. • Formulate Annual work plan for each financial year and ensure project deliverables are in line with Annual Work Plan. • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports for sharing with the USAID and partner agencies. • Develop regular status report of RMNCH+A interventions in the HPDs. • Manage Program Contracting- Finances and time. • Any other work assigned for the smooth functioning of the project. Qualifications & Experience Requirement: • MBBS with Post Graduate Degree in Community Medicine or equivalent medical streams/Master’s Degree in Public Health/Social Work/Sociology/Population Studies. • 7-10 Years or more of progressively responsible Work experience in Public Health & RCH (Reproductive & Child Health) programs. Essential Skills & Competencies: • Experience in managing large program and the teams. • Excellent organizational and time management skills and strong attention to detail. • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with government counterparts and Development Partners, as well as with donors. • Team management skills, multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary environment. • Strong analytical skills and strategic thinking. • Good presentation, communication, advocacy and negotiation skills. • Desirable: Experience of working on USAID Program.
