October 20, 2014 – Twenty-ninth Week in Ordinary Time Eph 2:1-10 (Life with Christ) Ps 99 (Serve The Lord) Lk 12:13-21 (Build bigger barns) Build Bigger Barn “I will pull down my barns and build bigger ones to store all this grain, which is my wealth......But God said to him: ‘You fool! This very night your life will be taken from you....who shall get all you have put aside? This is the lot of the one who stores up riches instead of amassing for God.” It is obviously necessary to have some riches for living; but it is utter foolishness to put all our trust, success and satisfaction solely on material riches. Material riches carry within themselves instability and insecurity. What we should, in fact, be preoccupied with amassing is not terrestrial treasures but spiritual ones valid before the eyes of God. They will ever stand by us, no matter what happens to our life.
