Catholic Elementary Schools Hold Open Houses for Catholic School on Jan. 25 The eight Catholic elementary schools located in the Northeast Deanery of the Archdiocese of St. Louis will kick-off Catholic Schools Week with an Open House on the afternoon of Sunday, Jan. 25. Visitors will have the opportunity to tour the schools, meet teachers and staff, learn about the curriculum and programs that each school offers, and review application and enrollment procedures. “Our schools are communities of faith, service and knowledge, ready to welcome parents who are seeking a rigorous academic program rooted in Gospel values,” said Cara Koen, Director of Advancement for the Federation of Catholic Schools in the Northeast Deanery. “Come and see our facilities, meet families and students who attend our schools, and learn about the positive ways Catholic schools impact North County.” Since the schools in North County began working together as a Federation in 2010, enrollment has been steady each year with approximately 2,000 total students in preschool through 8th grade. Teachers from the eight schools continue to participate in their Professional Learning Teams, sharing best practices for grade level (K-5th grade) and subject area teaching (junior high math, English, social studies, science, art, music, technology, and physical education/P.E.) and providing support and encouragement for one another in their classroom ministry. Principals and Pastors from the eight schools and 11 parishes meet quarterly to set goals, with emphasis this year in the areas of diversity, fine arts and technology. The Federation of Catholic Schools in the Northeast Deanery includes the following parish-sponsored elementary schools, which will all be open to the public on Jan. 25.
