Catholic Mass Reading OF The Day! Monday 27th October 2014 ~ 30th Week In Ordinary Time Eph 4:32-5-8 (Walk in love) Ps 1;1-4,6 (God’s children) THE SABBATH ~ Luke 13:10-17 Woman, you are freed from your infirmity Normally, it is the sick, infirm and handicapped people who come to Jesus seeking health, healing and well-being. In the case of the crippled woman, however, it is Jesus who takes the initiative to heal and restore her to the original healthy status. It takes place as well on a Sabbath. Jesus through this incident does certainly wish to give us more than one lesson: it is humans, who clearly have precedent over all other creatures. They are sons and daughters of Abraham and, therefore, form an intimate human family and, hence, have solidarity with the rest of humankind. Sabbath itself, has no absolute value; its value serves the well-being of humans, created by God. It should be a day to do good rather than evil. ~ Reflection on Luke 13:10-17 youtu.be/vEvfKHsihWw?list=PLbIwWtTe1Rjubs5HA-3cJ96nV6lt83yf-
