Cathy Martone I have been in denial and avoiding any kind of assistive walking device for a while. Although, I know I do need something. I have a hard time moving and lifting my legs, I trip, I fall and I am always looking for something to hold on to when I walk. I am not comfortable leaving my house. I had an appointment with my Neurologist this week and he told me I need to suck it up and not care what people think and not care that I am using it. He said my quality of life and safety is the most important thing. Well, I am sucking it up and getting a walker and a cane. That is the first step, now I need to use them. I should consider myself lucky since I have had MS for 27 years and not needed a walker or cane until now. I am having a hard time with the fact that my MS has progressed and I can no longer hide it.
