Celebrate Mountain Day with an Urban Hike in the Presidio of San Francisco We will make a loop which includes the Presidio Promenade, Lyon Street Steps, Lover’s Lane, El Polin Springs (lunch) and the Ecology Trails, approximately 2-2.5 hours of hiking. When: Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Where: Meet at the Presidio Visitor Center; Building 105 Montgomery Street at the bottom of the Main Post parade ground near the Corner of Lincoln Boulevard Bring: Water, snacks, lunch, hat, sunscreen, sturdy walking or hiking boots and a jacket RSVP: Susy Heldman by September 25th at 415-667-9131 or shheldman@aol If you are taking public transportation, check out 511.org for the best bus line to our meeting spot. The presidio.gov website also has helpful information about transit and parking. There is parking available along the Main Parade grounds close to where we are meeting, you are required to prepay ($6 all day) and place the permit on your dashboard. We will hike this scenic loop and eat our lunch along the way at a picnic area in the El Polin Springs picnic area (Susy will bring home-baked cookies).
