Cell Phone Etiquette ~ Im not seeing it!! Am I the only one this bothers? Today I was at the gas station. A woman had just gotten a drink when she got a call on her cell phone and answered it. The clerk said she could take the next one in line. The woman put her drink on the counter, talked loudly on her phone, got out her money, gave it to the clerk, then took her change. She never once asked the caller to wait a minute, she didnt look at the clerk, and she didnt thank the clerk. Later I was driving on the highway. One guy was in the car behind me and he kept looking down! How on earth can you see whats going on around you when you are constantly looking down?!? I thought he was going to hit me as I turned! This is a problem in town, as well. I see it daily - whether driving or walking. Ive seen parents with their children at the park, on the phone the entire time their children are playing and needing/wanting their attention. We were in a restaurant last week. There were 4 people at a table near us. Yep! They were ALL on their cell phones! More than once Ive gone somewhere and forgotten my phone. Sometimes its actually nice not to have it with me. But theyre a life-line for so many people who cant go anywhere without their phones. It seems eye contact, interaction, and conversation are quickly becoming skills of the past! I just find it rude and disrespectful! Okay . . . . thats all for now! Keep looking up ~ or at least ahead!! :)
