Fire Danger - High UV Alert from 8:20 am to 4:10 pm, UV Index predicted to reach 14 [Extreme] Precis Icon Location Min Max Mackay – 29 Bowen – 31 Weather Situation A series of upper troughs will move east over southwestern Queensland during the forecast period. A weak tropical low lies over the northern Coral Sea to the southwest of the Solomon Islands. The tropical low is expected to remain slow moving today before most likely taking on a southwestwards track from Wednesday. Forecasts late in the week will be highly dependent on the development and movement of this low. A high over the Tasman Sea will weaken from late today, gradually relaxing the ridge along the east Queensland coast. The ridge will then be reinforced by a new high moving east into southeastern Australia on Friday.
