Central govt has tried to spread misinformation about unauthorised - TopicsExpress

Central govt has tried to spread misinformation about unauthorised colonies · There is no ordinance to regularise these colonies and cabinet decision has no meaning · AAP challenges the UD ministry to make public the names of colonies it will regularise and till when ? The BJP’s central government has attempted to spread misinformation about the ordinance to regularise the unauthorised colonies in Delhi. It has been wrongly reported in a section of the media that the union cabinet approved an ordinance to provide relief to the unauthorised colonies. The fact is that no ordinance has been approved by the union cabinet and its decision has no force of law to implement it. The Narendra Modi government has merely repeated the farce of former Sheila Dikshit government and has fooled the poor people living in these colonies by merely changing the deadline date. The Aam Aadmi Party challenges the central government to make public the list of unauthorised colonies which it will regularise and till which date. The fact is that the central government has not followed the proper procedure which was required before going ahead with the announcement to regularise these colonies. The announcement had to be preceded with some of the mandatory measures which are : 1) First of all, change of land use was to be done to allow the house owners to become legal owners. 2) Unauthorised colonies in Delhi are mainly on agricultural land, forest land and land owned by the DDA and ASI. Changes in bye-laws dealing with these agencies will have to be done. Has the Central government taken any steps so far ? 3) Can the Centre guarantee that its announcement will lead to provision of basic facilities in these colonies – which include electricity and water ? The union urban development ministry has so far not provided any roadmap of how its announcement is different from that of the Sheila Dikshit government, which eventually turned out to be a scam, since provisional certificates were distributed without providing legal ownership to the residents of unauthorised colonies. Can the UD ministry state how will it proceed to regularise the unauthorised colonies and can it deny that its announcement is merely a pre-election gimmick ?
