Cervantes presents its Holiday Concert “Christmas of Hope/Navidad de Esperanza” to benefit Divine Providence Internata Kenner, LA- Cervantes Fundación Hispanoamericana de Arte presents its third annual holiday concert “Christmas of Hope/Navidad de Esperanza” to benefit the non-profit organization Divine Providence Internata. The concert will take place on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at Our Lady of Divine Providence church in Metairie, at 7pm. A donation of $10 per person is suggested. One hundred percent of the proceeds collected will go to Divine Providence Internata. Musical guests include Mariachi Jalisco; Our Lady of Divine Providence Choir; Our Lady of Divine Providence School Children’s Choir; harpist Patrice Fisher; baritone Brian Silver; pianist Aigerim Magavina; sopranos Jeannine Grego, Gina Fortado and Mackenzie Norris; organist Iris Villarubia; cellist Tatiana Pino; guitarist Javier Olondo and members of some of the most renowned Latin bands in the area such as Rumba Buena, AsheSon and Merengue 4 among others. The evening will be emceed by Oscar Avila, Brenda Melara, Isis Izaguirre and Christian Amaya. “We are excited and privileged to have so many musical artists come on board for such a good cause. Every year, Cervantes chooses an organization to give back to and this year we chose Divine Providence Internata to help disadvantaged children in Yucatan, Mexico,” said Javier Olondo, director of Cervantes. “Attendees will have a wonderful time getting in the holiday spirit while giving back to the less fortunate,” he added. Divine Providence Internata will be “a home away from home”, created by the Daughters of Divine Providence, to give economically disadvantaged children in Oxkutzcab, Mexico, an opportunity to learn, while being cared for and loved. Located in the Yucatan Peninsula, it will be the first Divine Providence Internata in the Americas when it opens in the Fall of 2015. In the past, Cervantes’ Christmas of Hope/Navidad de Esperanza has benefited Hogar de Amor Orphanage in Honduras and the Capitan Victor Manuel Barrios School for disadvantaged children in Guatemala.
