Chad Reynvaan is the kind of guy who makes so much music that I often forget that a random afternoon session of strings or keys or singing will end up on a record one day, and Im often delighted to remember when it happens. Strange Twist, Chads just-released, sophomore solo album is just that: a pure delight! Whether beautiful strings played by Kate McVey, rollicking trombone by the talented Tatiana Siobhan Agnew, country Wurlizter by Daniel Hodge, kicking bass by Brian John Park, melodic electric guitar by Mark Ward, or just the generally astounding Chad, himself, playing a orchestras worth of instruments, the album is brimming with great musicianship. From Whats Your Hurry? and its straight-forward, joyous rock and roll to ballad Where Does the Time Go? and its wistful, reflective sentiment Chads songs cover a gamut of moods. This album is stands up to repeated listening: in the car, in the home, while cooking, dancing, showering, running, even before bed. A phenomenal album for the new year and all those to come! Check it out here, and donate what you can. Help promulgate Chads music and propagate much more of it! chadreynvaan.bandcamp/album/strange-twist
