Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Shah Geelani has accused the CPI (M) state secretary Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami of subjecting the conglomerate’s party leaders and activists of “political reprisal and using state police force as a tool for it.” In a statement, Geelani strongly condemned the arrest of Muhammad Shaban district president Kulgam outside the central office of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat and continued detention of Hurriyat activist Abdul Rashid Lone. “Pro-Indian political parties in general and state secretary CPI (M) Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami in particular are subjecting our party leaders and activists to political reprisal and for this purpose use state police force as a tool,” Geelani said. Stressing for immediate release of Muhammad Shaban Dar, Geelani “challenged the pro-Indian politicians to face pro-freedom leaders on political front.” “Tehreek e Hurriyat is an over ground political organization and its political ideology and programme is neither secret nor hidden from public. There is no moral or constitutional justification the way, administration and police is behaving with Tehreek e Hurriyat," Geelani said
