Chali ako (chaleco) ----> LOL mej pilit But kidding aside, I am likely to agree with Kasuyas hypothesis. The absence of a reelectionist incumbent coupled with weak party loyalties serve as incentives for potential presidential aspirants to launch new parties and entice legislative candidates to switch parties with the promise of access to patronage. The political machineries that candidates find in makeshift political parties give them untenable advantage over their opponents, as far as resources are concerned. But its good that the writer pointed out that not only does Binay have the political machinery, but also his popular image and the maka-masa brand, which has proven effective in propelling candidates for senator or even president into office. If I were to be asked which of the two forces is a more interesting research topic, Id pick the latter one. Who are parts of the masa and how do the masa pick their candidates? (Sounds so conyo)
