Challenge accepted, Jay. Reluctantly, I have given below ten (10) of the most artistic, influential, and significant books that shaped, sharpened, and shook my being. Of course there are more than ten books that did shake, sharpen, and shape me, but then again, here they are: 1. Being and Nothingness (1956), Jean-Paul Sartre 2. Ulysses (1922), James Joyce 3. The Passover Trilogy (1980s), Andrew M. Greeley 4. The Plague, Albert Camus 5. The Rosales Saga, F. Sionil Jose 6. The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle 7. The Stranger (aka The Outsider), Albert Camus 8. A Handbook of Critical Approaches to Literature, Wilfred Guerin 9. The Development of Philippine Literature in English, Richard Croghan 10. Tropical Gothic, Nick Joaquin I am now calling my other friends here, Mikoy Palafox, Sheela Gorobat Salvador, Wilfredo Valois, Edgar Dostoyevsky, Boyong Renato Reyes, Jay Claus Santos, Danielle Larizze Gallardo, Charlie DL Yadao, Giselle Ann Santiago, and Margret Dianne F. Fermin to do the same. Then post this same challenge to your respective friends and dont forget to tag my name when you accept this. (hehe...sana kasi top 20 at least, anyways, hehe...) :-)
