Chamber News Feed: Somerset County: (BASKING RIDGE, NJ) Despite having to deal with freak weather situations over the weekend, the Bernards Township Police are celebrating something fantastic! On Saturday evening a resident on the Spring Ridge Complex went into labor. Responding to the call was Bernards Twp. Police Officer Severino. With the assistance of fellow officers Herndon & England, they assured the mother all would be well as they helped deliver her beautiful baby. Many of the Bernards Township Police are certified EMTs, however Severino is not currently one. But nonetheless, his training and care, along with that of his fellow officers managed the situation to its successful arrival. Baby deliveries are not a common occurrence in the Township by Police or EMTs, due to our proximity to area hospitals, but it is comforting to know, that when our local Police respond, they are well trained and we are all served well by them.
