“Change doesn’t happen when we try harder. It happens when we trust harder.” (Celebrate Recovery teaching) I am still in a time of uncertainty in my life and waiting for God to reveal to me what it is He wants me to do next for Him. Though I trust that He will reveal this to me in His perfect timing, tolerating uncertainty and waiting on God is certainly not easy for me. When I wait on God fear often rears its ugly head. My natural inclination to take matters into my own hands also tends to rear its ugly head. At these times I remind myself of God’s promises to take care of me. One of His promises that I hold on to is: “I’ll take the hand of those who don’t know the way, who can’t see where they’re going. I’ll be a personal guide to them, directing them through unknown country. I’ll be right there to show them what roads to take, make sure they don’t fall into a ditch. These are the things I’ll be doing for them – sticking with them, not leaving them for a minute” (Isaiah 42:16 MSG).
