Change is the only thing in life that is constant. With quite mixed emotions, I begin my last week of full-time practice in Pickens County. For ten years, I have had the privilege of working at Pickens County Medical Center/ Carrollton Primary Care, working with some wonderful people, and taking care of some of the sweetest and most grateful patients on the planet. I am going to miss this immensely! However, I am excited about my new opportunity to teach young doctors how to be competent, caring family physicians. I am joining the faculty of the University of Alabama and will teach medical students and residents. I will also see private patients and continue to deliver babies at two hospitals. I will continue to offer prenatal care in Carrollton one day per week. Although this has been one of the most difficult decisions Ive ever made, I feel it is in Gods will. He has given me peace as I try to realign my time commitments to spend more quality time with my family. Please be in prayer for me, the office staff, and mostly my patients as I make this transition.
