Change of plan! We are STILL in the hospital. :/ I got all excited for nothing. Here is the low down for tonight: The respiratory therapist apparently works with the neonatal than the pediatrics so she thought that their oxygen couldnt be less than 92, when actually its ok to be as low as 90 for babies. Anyways, he did good with it throughout the day, even when sleeping. Then they decided they still recommend him staying another night and we MIGHT get to go home in the morning depending on how he does through the night. He has also been told to have a goal for each day. Since he has lost so much weight, he is in 1 percentile for his age. Which isnt good. But I explained to them about him throwing up and how I think its the powdered formula. They didnt seem to agree with me, but I was stern about it so they kept him on the concentrated. They want him to eat 7 times a day, 3 ozs each at 24 calories per oz. So we have to add 1 and a half teaspoon of powdered forumula to each 2 ozs. (Very hard to understand, I know!) Since the pre-made bottles only have 19 calories to them. I havent tried it yet, he is sleeping now. I just hope it doesnt mess his stomach up. Hes stopped the Zantac because I told them it doesnt seem to make a difference, so why give it to him if he doesnt need it? He is now on gas drops, thankfully they listened to me on that! I will update you all in the morning and hopefully itll be when we are about to go home! :)
